Kuwait Times carries story on Blacksburg video backlash

Well, this is interesting, in a nation that has no real free press and where women wear the burqa, the "Cho" video is getting some news time. OK, so it's only agency copy, but it's a start.

What"s going on?

This is a blog about media ethics and journalism / journalists. It is meant to be useful for students, but also for media consumers.

I'm also combining my work passion with my pleasure, the not-so-humble martini.

This is my first blog. I'm a digital immigrant, so please be patient. I will be back regularly to update this with a weekly "ethical outrage". Comments welcome.

I am currently working on a book about journalism today - how blogging, social networking and citizen journalism are changing the way journalism is done, marketed and interpreted.

The civilian body count in Iraq is one of the untold stories of our time. It deserves much more coverage than it gets. You can click through the logo to check the latest casualty and death figures.

The BBC website has an interactive map of Baghdad showing ethnic divisions and locations of serious attacks. It is one of the most graphic representations of the breakdown of Iraqi society since the March 2003 coalition invasion

Journalist Cocktail Drink This is a very fancy Martini, pehaps not for the purists, but the name alone allows it to live here. Recipe Ingredients 1/2 tsp Triple Sec 1 1/2 oz Gin 1 1/2 tsp Dry Vermouth 1 1/2 tsp Sweet Vermouth 1/2 tsp Lemon Juice 1 dash Bitters
Directions Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a cocktail glass, and serve.
